Globe Broadband’s flyer for their new Click Fix tool has a minor mistake on it. They are suggesting that we download their tool at this address - WWW.GLOBEBROADBAND.COM.PH which does not exist at all. Oh well, what else can we expect from Globe other than their crappy DSL service and their crappy customer support. How in the world can they fix our internet connection when they can’t even fix their print ads.

Just from plain curiosity I tried to ping Globe Broadband’s alternate DNS and to my surprise it gave me a ping timeout response which means the server is down or out of service.

Then I did an IP lookup. Again to my surprise, the IP belongs to or coming from:

Anyways, Globe’s alternate DNS is down or not functioning as of this moment. Thank you Globe.

We have a new search engine in town. It is called “Cuil” pronounced as “cool”, an Irish word for knowledge. The new search engine boast to have indexed three times as many as Google and ten times as many as Microsoft. It does sound cooler than the popular search engines but the BIG question would be - How would Cuil really stand-out from the the big giants like Google and Yahoo? In my opinion, the service should deliver new features never before seen from the big G or Y. Let’s wait and see…

Just this morning while I was searching for some Friendster news when I accidentally mistyped the name Friendster as “Freindster”, and guess what? It showed me a bogus website identical with that of the authentic Friendster.com. I would like to warn everyone to be very cautious when searching the keyword “Freindster” (mistyped) at Google which it will show you the bogus site Freindster.uni.cc as the first search result. Never to supply your email and password using that site or else they can get hold of your email and sell it to spammers. Even worse, they can access you Friendster account and steal whatever info you have in there.
