I love txting and taking pictures using my cellular phone. More than that, I love pimping it. Making it look, feel, and sound the way I like it to be. All of that won’t be possible if not for the website sources which freely share their pimping goodness! What I have here are the stuff you’ll gonna be needing and the links where you can find them.

The stuff you need to personalize your mobile phone:

Are you tired of typing SMS messages while using your PC? In this guide I will teach you how to receive and send SMS messages without holding your phone.

You need to have:

A Sony Ericsson phone
USB Cable
Float’s Mobile Agent

Let’s now get started:

1. Download and install Float’s Mobile Agent
1. Plug your USB Cable
2. Plug your SE Phone and select “Phone Mode”
3. Right click on Float’s icon located at the taskbar.
4. Select Toggle Connect

Wait for the program to detect your phone. Then follow these steps as an initial set-up.

1. Under the New Text Messages click the Get Messages link
2. Under the Address Book click Synch

mobile

Now you are ready to send and receive SMS messages using your PC and by just typing your message like you’re chatting using the Yahoo Messenger. Now this is what I call multi-tasking! ;)

and oh! you need to have cellphone credits to send SMS! Enjoy!

Do you know how to do this using a Nokia phone? Share your ideas and email me - cecortez(at)gmail.com I will give full credit to you as the contributor.

Nokia

I just bought a new brand new Nokia 6070 phone and I am looking for ways on how to improve its battery life from the maximum 3 hours talk time to even a little longer. These are the ways I can think of juicing up this baby and other Nokia phones with similar features. Any feature uses power so in theory, lesser features equals more power saved.

1. Disable phone vibrates - This feature is popular when used during those times you don’t want to be disturbed by an incoming call or message. I don’t feel like using it because it seems pointless.

2. Disable keypad tone - I can still use my phone without this feature.

3. Disable camera shutter - Who needs to hear you taking pictures?

4. Disable startup tone - No significant purpose at all.

5. Disable ring lights - This is the feature wherein the lights will blink in rhythm with the tones of an incoming call/message. Use this if you like to watch your phone blink like Christmas lights. hehe

6. Use dimmer background lights - Lesser lights means lesser power consumed.

7. Enable power saving feature - Turns off the background and background lights when not in use and displays the clock instead.

The built-in camera, radio, and games can suck your batteries dry too. So, watch out!
