My Comprehensive Yahoo Messenger Tweak
I love Yahoo Messenger, my mom loves it, even my dog loves Yahoo Messenger! However, I don’t feel like celebrating when I came across a number of useless features which gradually turning YM into a bloated beast.
So I did some research on how to tame this yellow beast. *hehe*
Then I got some info from google and some other sites
KILL THOSE ADS
Save this file (.bat text file) and execute it.
The .bat file you’ve just downloaded edits most registry values related to the ads in Yahoo Messenger from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ Yahoo\pager\YUrl, replacing the data with a dummy asterisk. Here’s the list of string values (only the first two are essentials):
Messenger Ad
Webcam Upload Ad
Webcam Viewer Ad
Webcam Viewer Ad Big
Webcam Viewer Ad Medium
Change Room Banner
Conf Adurl
Chat Adurl

COLLAPSE THOSE PESKY PLUGINS
Forgive me if I hate plugins.
Click the arrow down image to collapse those plugins.
DISABLE THOSE USELESS SETTINGS
1. Sign-in to your account
2. Go to the Messenger menu
3. Select Preferences
4. uncheck the following settings as seen below
General tab
Messages tab
Privacy tab
CHECK FOR SECURITY UPDATES
Might as well visit this page from time to time to check for quick updates
