A Unique Way To Hide Your Password

This idea was inspired by the article from Mp3buzz.net .

One of the useful information we can hide is our well kept secret - “passwords”, but this guide is not limited for passwords alone, you can also hide secret notes and codes.

Step 1: The mp3 file
The first thing we have to do is to create a bogus mp3 file. I think this is the easiest part of this guide. Create any file and just rename it with an .mp3 extention. You can use mp3 files from one of your collection but I recommend you use blank mp3’s for easy transfer to any device, just incase you want to give it to a friend or someone.

Step 2: The Image file
We are now ready to create a jpeg file containing your password. To do this, we’ll need a text to picture converter. Thanks to google, I got this free converter called jpegbook from a japanese site fumi2kick. Configure the custom size of the output image to suite to your liking.

Step 3: Combine!

original text from mp3buzz.net:

Move both files (the image and the mp3) to the same folder on your computer. For this example, they will both be moved to the desktop.

Open your command prompt (Start -> Run ->type “cmd”)

Within the command prompt navigate to where the files are stored (desktop for example) and enter the following command:

copy hiddenImage.jpg /b + anySong.mp3 /b newSong.mp3

then hit enter. In the above command, hiddenImage.jpg is the secret image we want to hide, anySong.mp3 is an mp3 file that we want to use, and newSong.mp3 is a new mp3 file that contains the original song and the hidden image file.

If you entered the command correcly, you should see a message saying “1 file(s) copied.” in the prompt window. Open the file using ms paint or any imaging software.

There you have it! Your password hidden inside an mp3 file. Good luck!

How to use ZoneAlarm the right way

I just found out later this evening why I can’t load my newly installed Yahoo Messenger. I simply missed this tiny security feature in ZA which cause a major impact on the stability of my applications.

yahoo

What I did was I reinstalled YM while ZA’s program control was set to Low (learning mode).

I let ZA determine which components of my YM must be given access in order for it to work correctly. Then, when everything seems to be working right, I switch the level back to medium and after a few minutes, im back online chatting with my friends. :)

3 easy steps to do it.

But before making a backup of your bookmarks, might as well delete deadlinks and duplicates using AM-DeadLink. - optional

Now lets proceed…

STEP 1: Go to your toolbars and click Bookmarks. Then click Manage Bookmarks.

step 1

STEP 2: When the bookmark manager pops-up, go to File and click Export

step 2

STEP 3: Save a copy of your bookmark preferably somewhere safe like your thumb drive or floppy.

Tip: You can save a copy of your bookmark on the web by synchronizing it using Foxmarks.

Happy browsing! :)
