A Simple Way To Hide Your Files

So you want to hide your personal files away from those prying eyes? Maybe this tip can help you.

First compressed your files using Winzip or Winrar, then set a password afterwards.

After you set a password to your zip file right-click to your zip/rar file and then go to properties and set your file attributes to “hidden”. After doing that place it somewhere in your disk that can’t be easily viewed by the users. Probably in the “Windows” folder.

But be sure to set this also before applying the step above.

1. open any folder
2. go to "folder options"
3. choose the "view" tab
4. under the "Hidden Files and Folders" choose "Do not show hidden files and folders"

If if you still have doubts in mind. You can further hide your zipped file by changing its file type.

Example:

From YOURFILES.ZIP

Omit .ZIP then rename it to YOURFILES

Windows will prompt you this message

If you change a file name extention, the file may become unusable.

Just click “YES”

You can revert the file to its original state by simply adding back the .zip file type.
