A set of tweaks I collected from the web for my favorite browser.

Requirement: Mozilla Firefox

[1] Speed up Firefox loading time:

1. Right click to your Firefox icon
2. Go to Properties
3. Add “-turbo” without the quotes next to the target:
4. Click Apply and OK

[?] Totalidea Software from the makers of Firetune has an option that creates a Firefox Faststart Shortcut with this target - “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe” /prefetch:1

I don’t know which of the two tweaks for faster loading works best. If you can tell me how the two tweaks differ, then I would be greatful to make appropriate clarifications here and acknowledge your name as the contibutor. Thank You.

[2] Speed up Firefox page rendering by disabling IPv6.
Most page does not support IPv6.

1. Under the Firefox address bar, type about:config
2. Look for “network.dns.disableIPv6″
3. Double click “network.dns.disableIPv6″ changing the value setting from “false” to “true”
4. Restart Firefox

[3] Fix Firefox memory leak.

1. Under the Firefox address bar, type about:config
2. Look for “browser.cache.memory.capacity”
3. Double click “browser.cache.memory.capacity”
4. Change the value to 60000
5. Restart Firefox

[4] Increase Firefox page cache for faster page display

1. Under the Firefox address bar, type about:config
2. Look for “browser.cache.disk.capacity”
3. change the value to 409600
4. Restart Firefox
Note: 409600 is equal to 400mb

Note: I did apply these settings once, as I have observed, after I uninstalled and installed a newer version of Firefox, the settings was already there, untouched. Well, thats just me.

Enjoy Tweaking! ^_^
