Have you ever wondered how your friend got a rare mp3 without even buying an Audio CD?

MP3 SEARCH ENGINES
Free mp3 Search Engine
Type the name of tha artist or song you want to search
Pros: very easy to look for free mp3’s
Cons: lots of ???? you know what I mean
Pros: Most of the links are located outside Corp. America
Cons: Search results are often displayed in Chinese font
Tyoogle Mp3 Seach Engine
Search mp3’s using the Google Crawler, type the name of the artist and the title of the song
Pros: Huge list of search results
Cons: Huge list of dead links *lol* x_X
Webjay’s User Playlist
A site that gather’s links and dex and compiles it into a playlist
Pros: Nice selections and often recent tracks.
Cons: No playlist search option. You have to go through each and every playlist in order for you to find what you are looking for.
Blogdigger
From the name itself, Blog Digger!
Pros: Links of links and more links!
Cons: I dunno
Pros: It aggregates mp3 blogs. No need to browse each blog just to search for mp3s
Cons: mp3s are limited to bloggers taste
FORUMS
There’s quite a few forums which allow users to exchange mp3’s and other copyright materials.
Just find that forum! (umm, do i have to tell you were to find one?)
eh, here’s your fucking example!
1. Signup for an account
2. Login
3. Now do your thing!
I R C
Good ol’ IRC
Go to mp3 channels that host free mp3’s
heres a few examples:
Undernet Server
#mp3manila
#mp3passion
#AudioFILES
Type @find “name of the artist” - “name of the song” in the channel window then wait for a reply with links shown in a window query.
link e.g. !musicserv blah blah blah < -copy&paste this to the channel then wait for the DCC to arrive then accept the file.
BLOG MP3 LINKS
IMHO, this may be the newest entry to http based leech resource that can be found in the internet.
Type this in your browsers address bar.
http://search.blogger.com/?ui=blg&q=megaupload
OR FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW FOR DETAILS
Step 1: Go to http://blogger.com or any popular blogging site
Step 2: Common to this sites is a search feature that scans its own database of archives. Look for one of this search forms!
Step3: Once uv located the search form, type the name of those free file hosting websites like:
megaupload
rapidshare
putfile
Tip: play with the keywords
Step4: See the search results and from here you can get the name of the users who have collected links to mp3s.
FREE MP3'S FROM TORRENT SITES
Torrent sites host free mp3s and then shared to seeders and leechers.
Seeders: Those users who have the complete file but countinue to share the file to the leechers.
Leechers: Those users who have the partial part/s of the file who continue to download the lacking part/s of the file and at the same time continues to share his partial files to other leechers.
What's the catch here?
Its a network of file sharers that continue to grow in a faster rate making the process of sharing more efficient than the conventional p2p applications. This is because it is mandatory for file leechers to share his partly downloaded file/s while in the process of downloading the lacking part/s of the same file/s.
How to Torrent:
1. First you need to download a torrent software,
I recommend utorrent because its fast and relatively small.
(file size: 100kb)
2. Look for torrent sites like this one: ppnow
3. Look for links of .tor files
4. copy & paste it to “add torrent from url…” (see the utorrent toolbar) then press OK
Thats all for now!
Remember! This page is for educational purpose only. I don’t support any of the links posted here and I cannot be held responsible/liable for your actions outside this blog. Go buy yourself an original CD if you want to support the artist.
A set of tweaks I collected from the web for my favorite browser.
Requirement: Mozilla Firefox
[1] Speed up Firefox loading time:
1. Right click to your Firefox icon
2. Go to Properties
3. Add “-turbo” without the quotes next to the target:
4. Click Apply and OK
[?] Totalidea Software from the makers of Firetune has an option that creates a Firefox Faststart Shortcut with this target - “C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe” /prefetch:1
I don’t know which of the two tweaks for faster loading works best. If you can tell me how the two tweaks differ, then I would be greatful to make appropriate clarifications here and acknowledge your name as the contibutor. Thank You.
[2] Speed up Firefox page rendering by disabling IPv6.
Most page does not support IPv6.
1. Under the Firefox address bar, type about:config
2. Look for “network.dns.disableIPv6″
3. Double click “network.dns.disableIPv6″ changing the value setting from “false” to “true”
4. Restart Firefox
[3] Fix Firefox memory leak.
1. Under the Firefox address bar, type about:config
2. Look for “browser.cache.memory.capacity”
3. Double click “browser.cache.memory.capacity”
4. Change the value to 60000
5. Restart Firefox
[4] Increase Firefox page cache for faster page display
1. Under the Firefox address bar, type about:config
2. Look for “browser.cache.disk.capacity”
3. change the value to 409600
4. Restart Firefox
Note: 409600 is equal to 400mb
Note: I did apply these settings once, as I have observed, after I uninstalled and installed a newer version of Firefox, the settings was already there, untouched. Well, thats just me.
Enjoy Tweaking! ^_^
How to get the most out of your 56K modem?
I posted this guide hoping to help those people juice up their modem for them to add extra throughput while online.
Find a way to maximize your “Maximum Transfer Unit” (MTU) depending on your ISP. im using TCP Optimizer to do that, its a free TCP tweaking tool (obviously). You will see improvements once u have it set properly.
what else?
under control panel go to your network connections and go to your default connection or any dial-up connection your using. right-click properties , under the “networking” tab uninstall all the protocols EXCEPT “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and your personal firewall protocol (if ever there is one installed). Then click “OK” WHY DO THIS? To save resources.
Next
Still under the control panel go to your network connections and go to your default connection or any dial-up connection your using. right-click properties , under the “networking” tab, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click the “Properties”. Under the “General” tab click the “Advance” button then go to the “WINS” tab, from there untick the “Enable LMHOSTS lookup”.
Next
Still under the control panel window go to “Phone and Modem Options” once you are there, go to “modems” tab select the modem you are using, then click “properties”. Under your modem properties go to “advance” tab then add this extra initialization commands:
&K3S10=30S11=20S15=127S27=4S32=130
Before we proceed, mind you, use this command at your own risk.
Next
Still under your modem properties, go to “Power Management” tab then untick “allow this device to bring the computer out of standby”.
Lastly
Download a free , light , and robust download manager. In my case im using “Flashget”
This set of tweaks works right for me. In your case, use at your own risk. Don’t blame me for sudden BSOD’s. There are different computer setups. thus, results may vary.
I remember those days when i’m so pissed off by how long it would take for me to play mp3s in winamp. With some tinkering, I made it load faster and play better with this simple adjustments. This is for the guys out there who still runs ancient machines.
