I love txting and taking pictures using my cellular phone. More than that, I love pimping it. Making it look, feel, and sound the way I like it to be. All of that won’t be possible if not for the website sources which freely share their pimping goodness! What I have here are the stuff you’ll gonna be needing and the links where you can find them.

Lasyk.net - If you are a Sony Ericsson fan like me, then this should be the site for you. It has all the fun stuff for every SE phone model known to man. They also have a list of useful tools for synchronization and advance customization for your phone.

It has always been my practice having two anti-virus on my computer due to the fact that most antivirus vendors these days lacks the ability to detect and clean all of the known viruses. This is true even when I have the most updated version of my software with the latest virus definitions on it. To keep myself protected I always make it a habit to install “two” anti-virus in one machine instead of having only one which is a common practice by most users.

The first software is for real-time background scanning and the other one is for on-demand scanning.

Your always ON antivirus is a must have for your computer. It runs in the background to check almost every file your computer writes and reads. One example of a good anti-virus that can do the job is Avast! 4 Home Edition, it is free and the company behind it Alwil has been in the market since 1988.

Second is your ON-DEMAND scanner which acts like a utility. This anti-virus only runs when you do a manual scan or if you set it to run on a certain time. The only anti-virus I can recommend for this is Clamwin.

 

Here’s a personal trick I’d like to share to everyone. Make the most of the said two anti-virus by doing a scan using Clamwin while Avast is enabled in the background. Why do this? I call this “aided scanning” wherein Clamwin helps Avast scan and detect viruses which the later cannot detect by itself alone. This technique really works because Clamwin is designed to do so..

Some points to take note from the makers of Clamwin

ClamWin should be used only as a complimentary scanner.

You don’t need to disable ClamWin Free Antivirus as it does not yet include on-access scanner. It won’t conflict with the software you are trying to install.

Just this morning while I was searching for some Friendster news when I accidentally mistyped the name Friendster as “Freindster”, and guess what? It showed me a bogus website identical with that of the authentic Friendster.com. I would like to warn everyone to be very cautious when searching the keyword “Freindster” (mistyped) at Google which it will show you the bogus site Freindster.uni.cc as the first search result. Never to supply your email and password using that site or else they can get hold of your email and sell it to spammers. Even worse, they can access you Friendster account and steal whatever info you have in there.

Yuwie.com is a social networking website, just like MySpace where you sign up for an account and then have the ability to create a profile with whatever information you want to put in. This is one of the most irritating virus in the year 2007. It comes in different names and it infects your system by adding autoplay.inf files in all of your system drives, making your hard drives unaccessible when you double click on it. I got this idea from a friend who was really pissed off because she cannot properly view someone else’s Friendster profile. I believe we do share the same sentiment. Friendster has become a huge honey pot for the teen users of the internet particularly those living in the asia-pacific region. However, this trend also brought with it some unavoidable annoying characteristics. One of it are those junk littered profiles full of flashy videos, glitters, and codes. I’m starting to wonder if this is the new breed of spam on the internet.

Why Spam?

- It proliferates like a wild fire causing havoc on almost every Friendster profile.
- Destructive, it causes browsers to lag and it eats huge amount of bandwidth all for the purpose of showing off.
- Irrelevant, we already have Youtube and all of those sites. We don’t care or need to know what vids are your favorite.

If you share the same sentiment, join me as we let the Friendster people know that we hated those flashy profiles and we want the good old Friendster service to return.

WHY NO TO FLASHY FRIENDSTER PROFILES?

- To shorten the loading time of our
